Good News: Airtel SIM Registration Suspension Lifted in Kano

After about ten months of waiting, the Airtel SIM registration suspension in Kano has finally been lifted. The decision came yesterday, bringing huge relief to agents, dealers, and customers who have endured months of inactivity and financial strain. The development follows continuous engagement between ATOASDA, Airtel, and the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC). Airtel has put new structures in place to ensure that SIM registration now fully complies with NCC guidelines, and clear warnings have been issued to all agents to operate strictly within the rules. This marks a major milestone for the industry and a positive sign that cooperation between regulators, operators, and stakeholders works best when driven by dialogue and understanding. Speaking on the development, Hassan Yakubu, Chairman of ATOASDA, said: “This is a win for every hardworking telecom agent in Kano.
